This plane has a Corrugated Base "Siegley" is cast into the tool on the base, on the blade "7" is shown on the base, and the frog Wooden knob has chipped and worn varnish. Knob is securely attached Wooden handle is securely attached Japanning is chipped and worn all over (see photos)

History : Jacob Seigley made planes in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania (PA) starting in about 1884. He signed a deal to produce transitional planes for Stanley Rule and Level in 1901. He sold his entire business to Stanley Rule and Level in 1905. Stanley continued to market planes with the Siegley name until about 1912.
