In May 1985, McDonald’s ran a regional Happy Meal test promotion in St. Louis featuring non-transforming mini-vehicle figures of four Generation 1 bots: Cliffjumper, Bumblebee, Brawn, and Gears. Each came in six two‑color combinations.
These mini toys were simple, hollow, immobile plastic figurines approximately 2.5″ tall.
The yellow/black Cliffjumper is considered one of the rarest color variants due to limited distribution and collector demand.
Unlike the usual red Cliffjumper mold, this version appears entirely yellow with black accents, a color swap likely due to leftover Microman tooling repurposed for the test run.
